  • Course Description

    A perfect way for a family or group of friends to learn the most important mountain biking techniques, whether you are a mountain bike beginner or just looking to enhance your enjoyment of the sport.

    The team at Cyclewise are dedicated to promoting cycling for all which is why we have introduced our "Family / Group Mountain Bike Skills" sessions which we run from our stunning location at Whinlatter Forest Park.

    These mountain bike sessions are aimed at all members of the family from age 8 upwards and will cater for your individual group's requirements. Using our own purpose built skills course and the trails at Whinlatter, our coaches will be able to show you the basic techniques to give you the knowledge and confidence to MTB safely, with the emphasis being on fun for all. Pre-booking is essential for this action-packed session of biking skills and fun.

    Course Content:
    During the session you will learn how and when to control your speed, how to handle corners and pick the correct lines on the trail. We will also teach you about the correct body position for riding on descents and technical climbs making you not only a better rider but a safer one too. All this will take place at a pace and level that is best suited to your group on our purpose built coaching trail.

    Instructor Ratio: 1:6 maximum

    Covid 19 Statement

    Throughout our 16 years of delivering high quality Mountain bike courses, our client’s health and well-being has been our number one priority. This priority has not changed.
    Cyclewise has endeavored to meet and adhere to all current Covid-19 guidelines. We will, where applicable, offer the required PPE to our clients and follow robust hygiene guidelines when delivering any of our courses. If you have any questions or concerns before or during the course, then please do communicate these questions to either our Bookings Manager Sue or to your Cyclewise Tutor.
    In line with our Covid-19 operating procedures, all attendees on a Cyclewise course will become part of our “Track and Trace” policy for a period of 21 days after your course. After this period our normal GDRP policy is evoked. 

    Cyclewise – Covid-19 – What we will do.
    Upon arrival on your course, Cyclewise will provide liquid refreshments in disposable cups for the duration of your course. We will provide, where applicable, vinyl gloves and hand sanitisation.

    We require you to bring your own snacks and any stationery items required for your course. Facemasks or face coverings are not mandatory outdoors, however you may wear one if you choose too. (Please bring your own if you wish to wear one or are attending an indoor course)
