Beginners Bike Maintenance Course - Learn just how easy it is to fix and maintain your own mountain or road bike. This basic cycle maintenance course has been created for those people who have very little knowledge of bicycle maintenance.
This mountain bike maintenance course is delivered from our classroom at Whinlatter Forest near Keswick, Cumbria and aims to save you money by showing you just how easy basic cycle maintenance really is. Our base is also home to the award winning Altura MTB Trails.

You do not need to have a great knowledge of bike maintenance to complete many cycle repairs and you could save yourself a lot of time and money in the long run. We will take you through each process step by step with lots of opportunities to ask questions along the way -So why not come along and see how easy it really is to become a better bike mechanic.
This course will not only show you just how easy it is to keep your bike in good working order but will also give you lots of great trail / roadside repair tips to get you home safely should anything go wrong whilst you are out riding.
The course is suitable for both MTB and Road Bike riders and will cover the following areas:-
- How to Fix Punctures
- How to Adjust Gears
- How to fix your Brakes
- How to Fix Chains
- How to Replace Cables
- How to Adjust Headsets
- How to Fix Bottom Brackets.
All tools and work-stands are provided on the course.
Next door to the classroom we have our Cyctech Accredited Service Centre and Whinlatter Bike Shop where you can purchase your very own set of tools or any tooling you are missing before you leave. We offer a special discount for anyone attending a Cyclewise course.
